Airtel Posts Record Quarterly Revenues on Higher Tariffs, Increased Data Usage

Following a bruising battle for customers with the all-conqueringReliance Jio, Airtel has started making a comeback of sorts in the wireless sector this year. The company, earlier this year,went past Vodafone Ideato become the second-largest mobile telecom operator in India, according to data from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). The company was once the leading wireless carrier in the country before theemergence of Reliance Jioand themerger of Vodafone Idearelegated it to the third spot.
