Blackpink Edges Past BTS to Break YouTube’s 24-Hour Views Record Yet Again
Jun. 29, 2020Blackpink’s latest video amassed 82.4 million views in the first 24 hours of release on June 26, i.e. Friday. It managed to beat BTS by close to 8 million views, whose music video ‘Boy with Luv (feat. Halsey)’ had garnered 74.6 million views within the first 24 hours earlier last year. BTS recently released their new album ‘Map of the Soul: 7’ with the lead single ‘ON’ but itdidn’t manage to edge pasttheir previous record.
In addition to the record for most views in 24 hours, Blackpink’s ‘How you Like That’ has also become thefastest YouTube video to achieve 100 million views. This record is also known to have been held by BTS ‘Boy with Luv’ music video, which hit this milestone within 1.6 days. Blackpink, however, managed to achieve 100 million viewsin only 1.5 days, as per websiteKworb.net. The quartet also holds the third spot for their ‘Kill Their Love’ music video.
As for the music video itself, Blackpink is not really using a different formula but one that’s worked for years. A hip-hop style track with a catchy chorus, colorful and bright sets, huge production value, and the quartet being the center of attention. The formula works and has worked in their favor again!
