Bring Back Pause Update on Windows 10

Note:You must have Windows 10 Pro edition to be able to make the required changes.

1. Press the Windows key once andsearch for “group”. It will throw “Edit group policy” on top. Click on it.

2. Under the Computer Configuration menu, click onAdministrative Templatesand navigate to Windows Components -> Windows Update -> Windows Update for Business.

3. Here, double-click on “Select when Preview Builds and Feature Updates are received”. After that,click on “Enable”. Now, at the lower panel, you can set the number of days for which you want to pause the update on Windows 10. Keep in mind, it will pause feature updates only and you can defer updates up to 365 days.

4. To pause quality updates that come frequently on Windows 10, double-click on “Select when Quality Updatesare received” and enable it. After that, set the number of days in the lower panel. Bear in mind, you can defer quality updates up to 30 days.
