Auto reply is afeature missing on Signaland other widely used messaging apps. After releasing apps forautomating Instagram messages, Telegram, and Facebook Messenger in the past, a developer who goes by the name TK Studio has launched an autoresponder app for Signal in response to the massive adoption of thesecure messaging app.
Send Automated Replies in Signal
AutoResponder for Signal doesn’t require you to log in to your Signal account. Instead, ituses notification accessto detect incoming Signal messages. Once you install the app, you should grant notification access permission for the app to work as intended.
Download and install AutoResponder for Signalfrom Play Store. As soon as you open it, the app will urge you to grant notification access permission.Tap on ‘Get Started’ buttonandswitch the toggle for ‘AutoResponder for SGNL’on the notification access page.
After choosing both received and reply messages, you can now choose if the rule should get activated just for individuals, groups, or both. You can alsoconfigure it to work with specific contacts and ignore some contacts. Tap on the checkmark FAB to save the rule.
I’ve configured the app to respond with ‘Hello’ when someone sends ‘Hi’ and ‘Test 2’ when a Signal user sends me ‘hello’. As you can see below, the app works as intended and has automatically responded to the message. You can long-press and disable the app’s notification if you don’t want to see the log of your chats in the notification shade. More ondisabling spam notificationsin our linked guide.
