Microsoft released itsfirst insider preview of Windows 11late last month, and since then, some of the major OEMs have released their official list of laptops and desktop PCs that will receive the Windows 11 update. That means all the laptops and desktops listed here meet the Windows 11 system requirements, including TPM support,CPU compatibility, and more. So to help you out with your next purchase decision, we have compiled a list of all the laptops and desktop PCs that will get the Windows 11 update in this article.
The list includes popular models from Dell, HP, Lenovo, Asus, Acer, MSI, Razer, and Samsung, all of which should get Windows 11 once the desktop OS officially rolls out later this year. We expect many other devices (in addition to the ones listed below) to support Windows 11 once it releases to the public. That said, let’s check out the list of laptops and desktop PCs that are confirmed to receive the Windows 11 update.
Microsoft’s PC Health Check appcan tell you if your PC will be ready for Windows 11when it releases. The app was available to download until recently, but Microsoft has temporarily taken it down because it was creating a lot of confusion and offering false results to some users. Microsoft says that the app will once again be available before long, but there’s no exact ETA for that as yet.
In the meantime, there are plenty of third-party apps that can also check for Windows 11 compatibility, including anopen-source utility called WhyNotWin11. Even if your device doesn’t officially meet Microsoft’s stringent requirements, you might still be able to install Windows 11on it in some cases.
Microsoft has also released theofficial system requirements for Windows 11, and as it turns out, even some newer devices won’t be able to run Windows 11. That’s because the latest version of Windows needsTPM(Trusted Platform Module) 2.0, which is not found on most desktop motherboards.
Of course, some motherboards have TPM module slots (header pins) that let you add an external TPM 2.0 chip to your PC, making it compatible with Windows 11. Besides, there are ways to install the Windows 11 update on unsupported devices, but that’s beyond the scope of this article.
As mentioned already, the laptops below are some of the most popular models that will definitely get the Windows 11 update. More models will likely be added to the list in the future, but we cannot be sure about that just yet. So without further ado, here’s a list of PCs, including laptops, desktops, ultrabooks, and convertibles, that will officially get the Windows 11 update.
Dell has released itsofficial listof laptops and desktops that will receive Windows 11 in the coming months. The list includes devices from all its sub-brands, including Inspiron, Vostro, Latitude, Alienware gaming machines, and more. Here’s a list of Dell laptops and PCs compatible with the Windows 11 update:
Alongside Dell, Asus is one of the few OEMs to have shared a complete list of devices that are compatible with Windows 11. Here’s the full list:

MSI is the third and final major OEM to haveshared an official listof devices that will get the Windows 11 update. The announcement came in early July on the MSI gaming subreddit. Do note that the current list only includes desktops and all-in-ones, with the list of compatible laptops slated to be announced later.
Moreover, MSI alsorevealed which of its motherboards are compatible with Windows 11in an official Reddit post a couple of weeks ago. It also detailed thesteps to enable TPMfrom BIOS in MSI motherboards.
Unlike Dell, its fellow American PC vendor, HP, hasn’t released a list of devices that will receive Windows 11. Instead, in an officialpress releasea few weeks ago, the company stated that all its“currently-shipping”devices will receive the update. That includes the latest generation of the following lineups:
HP has dozens of devices under each of these lineups, which means the list will likely be as long as that of Dell. Also, in addition to the models above, we expect the following devices to receive the Windows 11 update:
Lenovo has also shared very little official information about its Windows 11 update plans. However, all Lenovo devices compatible with Microsoft’s hardware requirements are sure to get the update directly from Microsoft. So here are the Lenovo laptop and desktop PCs that are certain to receive the next-gen Windows OS:
Like HP, Lenovo also has a bewildering array of models under each lineup, so some of them may not make the cut for the Windows 11 upgrade. It’s difficult to say for certain without official confirmation from the company.
Another major PC vendor that is yet to publish an official list of Windows 11-compatible laptops and desktops is Acer. But multiple models from the following lineups, we believe, should receive the Windows 11 update later this year. We will have to wait for the official confirmation, though.
Being a high-end gaming PC manufacturer, most of Razer’s offerings should receive the Windows 11 update. From what we can tell, most of the models in the following lineups should definitely be compatible, but more could also join the list going forward.
Compared to its smartphone business, Samsung doesn’t have as many models and lineups in its PC portfolio. That said, most of the devices in its current lineup should get Windows 11. We believe the following devices will definitely make the cut, but note that this is not the official list from Samsung.
If Microsoft sticks to its rather stringent eligibility criteria for Windows 11, two notable Surface devices that will be missing out on the Windows 11 update are Surface Studio 2 desktop and theSurface Go 2-in-1.
In addition, Realme is gearing up to launch its first laptop in the market very soon. It will be calledRealme Bookand is alreadyconfirmed to get Windows 11 updateat launch. The company will compete against Xiaomi’s Mi Notebook and RedmiBook in the budget-centric market. Xiaomi is yet to reveal what all models in its laptop lineup will be able toupgrade to Windows 11 from Windows 10.
